... and I got the last pre-order box left at the Electronics Boutique near me! Go me! WOO!

Anyway, it says I can reserve my character's name. Is it possible to do that now, or do I have to wait for a specific time?

As far as I have read, there is going to be a wipe just before the game launch, however if you have the pre-buy, you will be able to log on the day before and set everything up.
This is all stipulation with the game 2 months away according to the last release date.

I'm pretty sure that you'll have to wait until the next event to create your name. Basically, you'll sign in, create a character and go... then once it's released, they will wipe your character, except for the name. So you'll Sign In on the 27 or 28 or whenever, and have your character's there, but you'll have to start from scratch (names will remain intact).

This is the way that I've been told it would happen.

there will be a wipe but any character created in a BWE will have the name and character carried over at level 1 in the reset
create your character , have fun, lose everything but your name and character later

meaning dont spend your time trying to gather enough for that better armor because it will go poof and you will have to do it over anyway

on the other hand upgrading as you get stuff anyway makes sence

i didnt know about wiping...the only thing i know is that people that pre-ordered Guild Wars will have the "exclusive item" when the full game is released.

the wipe is to make things equal for everybody who buys without having the chance to play early betas

i also just preordered....58??? is a lot of money, but I guess it's worth that.
I hope it wont take too long till i get the delivery

You must wait until the next time you can log in to reserve your name ... which is the next Beta. Your names are reserved for good though (they don't *ever* get whiped). After you delete a character, it takes 60 minutes for that name to become "un-reserved" so that anybody may use it.

Lucky for me, I didn't really have to pay for it. I just went to EB, traded two games and paid an extra $2 or so, and all is good.

Also, I am happy to have found out that pre-orders don't work as people have been saying. I can't get all my money back if I don't like it too much, when I play the BWE; they don't keep any of it. Woo!

Thanks for all the info guys. Can't wait for the next BWE so I can try this out! Hehe.

jw, at the final wipe if you have a lvl 20 char not a premade but the other one (4got what its called) will it go back to 20 with nothing or to 1?

I'm guessing it will go back to one at The Wipe.

you keep the character and name and keep nothing else except the standard basic gear and the special item if a preorder
